Job Summary :
The Purchasing Supervisor will oversee the procurement of the company’s equipment, supplies, and services.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in related field required.
At least 5 years of experience in related field required.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Reviews supply and service specifications.
Evaluates bids, ensuring compliance with departmental and company policies and procedures.
Distributes purchasing information to involved parties.
Reviews and evaluates purchase request forms for accuracy and completeness.
Gathers, records, and completes purchase data.
Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff.
Directs the daily workflow and schedules of the department, coordinating staff involved in purchasing, machinery, materials, or equipment.
Conducts performance evaluations.
Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
Preparing estimated budgets.
Full responsibility for issuing all the purchasing documents and follow up the signatures and approvals and recording purchase orders on system.
Attending meetings and taking minutes.
Placing and tracking orders.
Assisting with analyses and reports.
Communication with the factory planners and warehouse.
Assisting with the inspection of goods.
Assisting with negotiation strategies.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Thorough understanding of purchasing procedures and policies.
Very good negotiation skills
Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to read, interpret, and explain policies and procedures used in purchasing.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to access all areas of the facility and to visit suppliers to determine needs.
May require travel.
