The Role

We're on the hunt for a sharp, self-accountable operator who is heavily invested in backend architecture, but comfortable diving into the frontend when needed. You’ll be leading development from the backend up, building secure and performant APIs, optimising infrastructure, and ensuring frontend components run smoothly with Vue 3/Nuxt. This role suits someone who’s confident with Laravel and Vue but not limited by it someone who can go with the flow, learn fast, and adapt to new technologies when needed. If you’ve dabbled in other languages or are curious about how AI can be used practically in web products even better.

What You’ll Be Doing

Architect and maintain Laravel-based APIs, business logic, and backend systems.Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of secure and robust payment gateway integrations (e.g., Stripe, PayPal, Braintree, and more). A strong understanding of payment processing workflows, API security, error handling, webhook events, and compliance (e.g., PCI DSS considerations) is crucial.Manage infrastructure and deployments using Docker and AWS (EC2, S3, RDS).
Optimise database performance, query design, indexing, and data structure (MySQL/PostgreSQL).Tune performance across backend and frontend interactions.
Build and support frontend views and components in Vue 3 / Nuxt 3.
Collaborate cross-functionally with design (Figma), product, and QA teams.
Take ownership of sprint delivery, mentor junior developers, and uphold high code quality standards.Continuously improve CI/CD, DevOps workflows, and monitoring practices.
Keep an eye on emerging tech especially AI integrations, modern tools, and backend frameworks and propose their adoption where beneficial. Profil :

What We’re Looking For

5+ years of professional experience across backend and frontend development, with a significant portion in a senior or lead capacity.Deep, hands-on experience integrating and managing multiple payment gateways (e.g., Stripe, Braintree, PayPal, EcommPay). A strong understanding of payment processing lifecycles, API security, error handling, and compliance is critical.Deep expertise in PHP, the Laravel framework, API development, and scalable backend systems.Strong knowledge of database design (MySQL/PostgreSQL), performance tuning, and scalable architecture.Solid understanding of Vue 3 / Nuxt 3 even if backend is your primary zone.
Confident with DevOps practices (Docker, CI/CD, AWS deployment).
Proficiency with Git version control and collaborative development workflows.
Keen on secure coding, authentication flows, and app-level security.
Fast, reliable, and organised you hit your sprint goals and unblock others.
Curious mindset willing to explore new languages, frameworks, or AI integrations.
Clear communicator, collaborative team player, and a proactive problem-solver.
Demonstrable experience mentoring junior developers or leading technical initiatives.
Fluency in English.

Nice to Have

Experience with other backend languages/frameworks (Node.js, Go, Java, Python, etc.).
Knowledge of multi-tenant SaaS architecture.
Experience with TDD and automated testing frameworks (e.g., PHPUnit, Jest, Cypress).
Hands-on with Laravel Queues / Horizon or background job processing.
Experience with AI/ML model integration or development (e.g., image generation
APIs, NLP for customer service chatbots).
